Media Buyer
Job Summary:
Located on Long Island, DCW Media is seeking an experienced Media Buyer with a focus on traditional media for Broadcast, Cable, and Radio. Digital media experience is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, research, negotiate and buy television(broadcast and cable) and radio for local, spot market and national.
- Must possess strong negotiating skills who is organized with excellent communication skills.
- Collaborates with clients and media team members to strategize comprehensive media plans and optimization throughout the campaign.
- Executes all media plans in the assigned group of markets within established budgets.
- Negotiates optimum buys in terms of cost efficiency, goals delivery and vendor agreements.
- Maintains all media buys and is responsible for the post-buy results.
- Monitors buys in progress by spot checking placement and negotiating credit or billing adjustments when necessary.
- Track media expenditures to ensure agency and client are within budget compliance.
Qualifications:
- Media Buying experience required.
- Understanding of Nielsen, SQAD, Qualitative and Competitive Reporting
- Strong mathematical skills as well as strong communication and organizational skills required in this position.
- Efficient research skills to find what will work for a client’s needs
Computer Skills Desired
- Proficiency in Media Buying software (preferable Strata) and Excel.
- Proficient in ALL Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
Personal Computer proficiency: MS Office preferred including MS Outlook. This position will utilize STRATA software and/or other media buying and media research specific software.
